British Library, Kings Cross branding photoshoot with copywriter Emma Griffin

I am so excited to share this branding shoot that I shot on an overcast February day at the British Library in Kings Cross. When Emma, a mega talented copywriter, got in touch for a power portraits session I immediately suggested the Library as a location that felt relevant to her field of work and it did not disappoint.

With it’s beautiful red brick, cast iron signs and fun textured metal walls, the library was the perfect backdrop to getting some personality-filled portraits for Emma, before we headed towards Coal Drops Yard for a more varied vibe and obviously an epic pasta lunch to celebrate wrapping the shoot!

My intention for the shoot was to really capture Emma’s essence. We bonded over our love for cats and similarities in the small business world before she told me about her climbing adventures and how it has taken her all over the world (with the cats!) As the shoot became more relaxed and informal we really got wild, running back and forth over a picturesque zebra crossing, playing with angles, using interesting corners as backdrops and just generally enjoying ourselves. The whole shoot was full of giggles, fun, sass and good conversation and I think that really comes across in the photos. As I said 47,000 times during the shoot to the point where I need to get it tattooed on my body somewhere ‘IT WAS A VIBE’.

Everything feels authentic and real and provides the perfect top up gallery for Emma to use throughout her marketing. She received her gallery at the top of a Swiss mountain (which is probably the coolest place one of my galleries has ever been viewed!) and I can’t wait until she gets back from her adventures to see her photos out on her marketing channels.

Here’s what Emma had to say about the shoot:

“Becky really knows how to put you at ease in front of the camera. I loved getting to know her during my Power Portraits session and am super excited to refresh my old branding photos with a few of these bad boys! Social Media won't know what's hit it haha. If you're looking for a great value branding photographer in the South East/London, look no further than Becky.”
